A nasty song gone bad. This says true to one of Blake Shelton’s tracks that missed the no. 1 spot in the country radio.
It is noteworthy that the famous singer’s controversial song “She’s Got a Way With Words” nabbed the title as Shelton’s very first song to have not reached the top rank in seven long years according to The Washington Post.
The failure of the said single is a far cry from Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone” (2009) to his latest album’s debut single, “Came Here to Forget” (2016), which consistently hit the first place of the country-radio chart.
“She’s Got a Way With Words” is the second single from his studio album, “I’ll Be Honest,” that have sold 460,000 copies and dubbed as the best-selling country album launched this year.
Penned by Andy Albert, Marc Beeson and Wyatt Earp, the song was noted to be blunt and aggressive in describing a mean former love. The lyrics belts a debatable tune of “She put the ‘X’ in sex, she put the ‘low’ in blow. / She put a big ‘F-U’ in my future. / Little words like ‘I’ and ‘do,’ ‘lying,’ ‘cheating,’ ‘screwed’ / Yeah, all the words I thought I knew, they got a brand-new meaning now.”
It sounds like “The Voice” coach is singing his heart out to former wife Miranda Lambert as the emotions are intense and tease a big revelation.
While “The Voice” coach has not referred to anyone in particular about the song, the press and his fans can infer that he seems not over with their broken marriage.
“There is just a hint of sarcasm in this one,” Shelton described the song.
Shelton and fellow country singer Lambert announced their divorce last year. Currently, Shelton is dating Gwen Stefani and the love birds are reported to tie the knot this December.
