A Blogger Tried Going MakeUp-Free Just Like Kim Kardashian And Alicia Keys- This Is What She Discovered

It's a girl thing I suppose - Most women in all ages are into makeup to cover up flaws and highlight features of the face. In a world where the standards of beauty equate to social stature, many women have become dependent on cosmetic use to boost their confidence.

This year, Viola Davis and Alicia Keys started questioning the impact of make up on a woman's life. Viola Davis started going to events makeup-free for the world to see its real impact and be able to inspire women. Even Kim Kardashian went to Paris Fashion week without make up and talked about how much she liked going bare-faced and not having to go through her usual beauty routine.

Recently, a reporter/blogger also tried going through her daily activities without having to smear some make up all over her face first and this is what she discovered:

First, she discovered that she can be her worst critic and that it can be quite unhealthy because it only made her self-conscious most of the time and ended up lowering her self-esteem and self-confidence. Low self-esteem and confidence may affect one's performance at school and work and that is already bad news.

Second, she realized that she was almost addicted to make up and the thought of covering her face up. She couldn't stand going outside bare-faced which was odd for her because she considered herself a confident woman. Only now that she realized that it was hard for her to be confident without make up.

Third, going out without make up made her question "does covering our flaws help us become more comfortable ourselves?"

Fourth, she discovered that it was saddening that even her herself was very dependent on makeup and that she can no longer appreciate her natural beauty. In a world full over makeup-dependent women, she knows that she is not the only one who can't appreciate her face without makeup anymore.

And lastly, she was able to learn that with the right skincare routine; she doesn't need to wear makeup as long as she takes care of herself and most importantly, she learned that one can have so much more reason to be confident than just being "pretty".
