The next-generation Xbox is sure making some waves. Per latest reports, an auction went up on eBay for the Xbox 720 Durango development kit, with bids starting from $1. The listing has now reached its conclusion and the development kit has been sold for a mammoth $20,100.
A seller on eBay named "superdae" has officially the sold the Xbox 720 Durango Development Kit, which looks like a black PC tower. However, both the seller and buyer are convinced that the black PC tower is actually a development kit for Xbox Durango, the codename being used for Microsoft's next-generation gaming console, and also the one that many have dubbed the Xbox 720.
This sale, however, is in violation of Microsoft’s NDA (non-disclosure agreement). So, if it turns out to be real, Microsoft will promise a pretty hard time for the seller. However, a Gamingbolt report believes that the “person who bought it would gain nothing from it considering it’s not a final representative of the design or specifications.” No other information is currently available.
Additionally, the latest rumors surrounding the upcoming next-gen console have stated that the "new Xbox" is arriving within the next 18 months. A new job listing for Microsoft was responsible for disclosing the information.
"Over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface," the ad stated.
Whether the rumors hold true and the development kit was indeed an authentic one will only be revealed when the next-gen Xbox releases.
