Official information about the iPad Air 3 remains elusive, but according to recent reports, the Apple tablet may arrive this year despite rumors saying otherwise.
The iPad Air 3 is being rumored to arrive not earlier than March 2017, which will also see the unveiling of other tablets with different sizes. However, this recent rumor suggests that there is still a chance that the Cupertino-based company will release the rumored iPad Air 2 successor before the year ends.
iPad Air 3 To Arrive Fall 2016?
According to the rumor mill, there are still plenty of time left in this year's fall for Apple to make a move. It is believed that they will reveal a refresh of their Mac products before October ends, so it is not entirely impossible to slip in a tablet during the event.
Furthermore, it can be recalled that the tech giant has previously released tablets during this month also. The two current Air tablets were both launched in October, one in 2013 and the other in 2014. Although the iPad Air 3 is a no-show last year, it does not entirely discount the possibility of this year's release.
iPad Air 3 Specs
When the tablet is finally launched, it is expected to come with a thinner chassis and an additional Rose Gold color option. Under the hood should be an A10 Fusion Chip, which is similar to the iPhone 7's. If rumors hold true, then consumers can expect a powerful iPad Air 3 coming their way.
iPad Air 3 Might Become iPad Pro
Many still doubt that they will see an iPad Air 3 this year. Instead, it is rumored that it will arrive alongside the iPad Pro 2 and the alleged iPad Pro Mini in early 2017. This means that it might take on a different name and form: an entry-level 10.1 iPad Pro. However, these are just rumors for now so it is advised to take these with a grain of salt.
