'How I Met Your Mother' Season 10 News And Updates: Actress Alyson Hannigan Teased Either A Reboot Or Spinoff

The phenomenal hit series "How I Met Your Mother" last graced TV screens way back 2014, yet fans remain hopeful for something more even after all those years. Recently, rumors claim that the series might be getting a next chapter - either a 10th season or a spinoff.

According to reports, actress Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily in the series, recently teased a possible continuation of "How I Met Your Mother." Rumors are rife that it could possibly go two ways - a reboot or a spinoff.

"In the last season [of HIMYM], I was like, 'We need to do a Marshall-Lily spin-off,'" Hannigan recalls telling his on-screen husband Jason Segal who plays the character in How I Met Your Mother, Marshall. "He said 10 years ... and then we can come back," Hannigan said in an interview with Wet Paint.

The actress revealed that it's not just about Marshal and Lily but the chemistry she had with Jason Segel. Hannigan admitted that she just loves working with the actor and another sitcom would be a good chance for them. The actress even joked that in case a new sitcom with Segel comes to fruition, it will be called "Out By Lunch" since the two of them work so fast, they're always done by lunch.

Meanwhile, there are rumors claiming that "How I Met Your Dad" is the next planned project for the series. However, it has been confirmed that the producers are "really, truly not working on 'How I Met Your Dad' anymore."

As for the stars of "How I Met Your Mother," both Segel and Hannigan will be quite busy with their upcoming projects. Fans can expect Segel in a romantic sci-fi film "The Discovery" slated for 2017. The said film will also star Rooney Mara, Riley Keough and Jesse Plemons.

On the other hand, Hannigan will be part of an LGBT drama movie "Do You Take This Man" alongside Anthony Rapp and Jonathan Bennett. The said film is written and directed by Joshua Tunick.
