NBA already kicked off with its preseason games, yet teams continue to vie for the best players to add to their rosters. One of the prominent names to come up with trade rumors is DeMarcus Cousins, who is allegedly ready to ditch Sacramento Kings for Boston Celtics.
Over the past few months, DeMarcus Cousins has been in numerous trade talks but none of which appears to materialize - at least not yet. Apparently, Sacramento Kings and the 26-year-old basketball star might go their separate ways, now that Boogie is allegedly ready to leave the team.
Reports claim that DeMarcus Cousins, along with Rudy Gay, is open about jumping to another team. However, preseason games have already started but the two remains to be in Sacramento Kings. There are speculations going around that Boston Celtics might take the initiative and acquire DeMarcus Cousins.
According to reports, Boston Celtics has been working on improving their roster to be a contender for the upcoming season. So far, the team was able to acquire Al Harford. But an upgrade is still needed. With that DeMarcus Cousins might fit in perfectly.
Sports Rageous suggests that the said trade could possibly go two ways - by sending off Marcus Smart with some future picks or trade him and power forward Amir Johnson to Sacramento Kings. The same source also added that DeMarcus Cousins would make a great addition to the team, given that he can offer a double-double or even a triple-double performance.
However, there are rumors that a possible drawback of acquiring Boogie could be his attitude towards his coach and other game officials. The basketball star has been known to be somewhat emotional during games to the point of getting infuriated. But overall, DeMarcus Cousin is a reliable player.
Aside from DeMarcus Cousins, Boston Celtics has been rumored to be eyeing Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith but their available cap might be a hindrance.
As of this writing, there has been no confirmation yet whether DeMarcus Cousin will don Boston Celtics' jersey or stick with Sacramento Kings.
