Overwatch Updates: Treats For Halloween Haters; Blizzard Rolls Out Competitive Play Connection Fixes And Hero Balance Updates

Overwatch may be getting a Halloween makeover but not all players are excited about those new graphical updates. Players who aren't too excited about the game's new appearance still have much to look forward to since the new patch also introduced minor but useful updates, and there are bug fixes too. Among the best things about these improvements is the connection settings for competitive play.

The newest Halloween update for Overwatch has been getting much attention given the hilarious new poses, slutty costumes, and there's the co-op PvE brawl Junkenstein's Revenge. The Overwatch community is getting hyped about the Halloween event. For those who aren't too excited about Halloween, the best news about Blizzard's patch is the connection updates in competitive play and other much-needed fixes.

Overwatch Competitive Play Fixes

Among the biggest complaints that Overwatch players have is getting disconnected during competitive play. With the new update, as long as the match is in progress, players can come back and join anytime they want whether they left the game or got booted out because of poor internet connection.

If a player gets disconnected, the teammates of that player can exit after two minutes. Previously, team members are given one minute to leave without incurring penalties. Although the player won't have a leaver penalty, the player would still sustain losses.

Leaderboards, Hero Updates And Minor Fixes

Among the changes that were made through the update is the new leaderboard which shows the top 500 players. The leaderboard allows players to rank themselves in their region while there's also another leaderboard where the player can see his rank against his friends in Battle.net.

There were also changes made to several characters, namely Ana, Junkrat, and Widowmaker. Most Overwatch updates focused on improving the response rate of the characters. These changes could be useful with the ongoing event which will end on Nov. 1.
