'The Young And The Restless' Cast News & Updates: Justin Hartley Hints Comeback; Adam To Be Back In Genoa City In February?

Justin Hartley might be returning to Genoa City soon. New reports claim that the actor might consider reprising the role of Adam Newman in "The Young and the Restless" even as a guest star.

Hartley revealed in a recent interview with CBS Soaps in Depth that he might be interested in returning to "The Young and the Restless" even if it would be an occasional visit. "I love the [The Young and the Restless] cast, the crew. And obviously I love Melissa Claire Egan [Chelsea Newman]," he said, as reported by CDL.

The same report said that even though the actor's new drama, "This Is Us," is a huge hit, it is possible for him to return as Adam in Y&R for a few episodes when he is not filming for the NBC dramedy. The outlet noted similar cases, like that of actor Michael Graziadei who returned to the daytime soap for a brief moment while the filming for Amazon series "Good Girls Revolt" was on break. Also, there was Hunter King who did a double role as Summer on "The Young and the Restless" and as Clementine on CBS' "Life In Pieces."

On the other hand, another report claims Adam will be returning to "The Young and the Restless" in February next year. However, his return will be full of conflicts as his wife, Chelsea, will be forced to be paired with Nick. Nick was the one who was with Chelsea as she mourned for Adam's death, and spoilers claim that the two might be married by the time Adam returns and it might complicate their relationship.

Adam has died several times in "The Young and The Restless." Two years ago, fans were made to believe that he died in a burning car, while his most recent death in September was caused by an explosion.

It was previously reported that there will be no recast for Adam's role, which leaves limited choices for his anticipated return: Chris Engen who first took the role in 2008, Michael Muhney who was cast in 2009, and Justin Hartley who took over in 2014.
