iPhone 7 Has Home Button Problem; Apple Integrates A Temporary Fix

The new iPhone 7 was just released a few weeks ago and one of its main changes compared to last year's Apple flagship device is the home button. It can no longer be pressed like a real button; instead it gives haptic feedback when clicked. But what if it fails to work?

What Happens When iPhone 7 Home Button Fails?

In a post by a user named 'iwayne' in a MacRumors forum, he revealed that in case the iPhone 7 home button stops working, the device can detect it. The handset will then give a notification that the phone's home button needs servicing. Then, an on-screen home button will appear at the bottom of the screen while the device has not been carried to an Apple service center yet.

Failing iPhone 7 Home Button

The MacRumors forum member noticed that the new iPhone 7 has this feature when he connected the device to an outlet, after which the handset turned off by itself. He tried turning it on, but when it was being powered back on, the notification appeared.

He restarted his phone and the button worked for a moment before "firing 3-4 times in a row." The user's iPhone 7 was then again restarted, but this time, the home button did not work anymore.

As of the time of writing, there is no known reason yet on why the iPhone 7 home button stopped working.

Apple To Ditch Home Button Next Year

It can be remembered that in the previous report of Bloomberg that was mentioned in the report of 9To5Mac, the iPhone that will be released this 2017 will no longer feature the famous home button.
