The possible comeback of actress Nina Dobrev to "The Vampire Diaries" season eight has been one of the most-talked about news on the series recently. This was led by the affirmation made by Executive Producer, Julie Plec that the actress agreed to return when needed.
Nina Dobrev Not Pressured To Make Appearance In "The Vampire Diaries" Series Finale
It can't be denied that when Dobrev left "The Vampire Diaries" during the end of season six, it caused a lot of the viewers. She was the protagonist of the show and her journey through love, life and family was the center of the show's storyline. Thus, when she left, most of the fans also did. It can be observed that social media is now filled with posts form the series' previous seasons when Dobrev was still there.
However, despite this, the actress is reportedly not pressured into coming back to the show. Although she will no longer be coming back as a series regular, it would be nice for the show to give her character(s) in the series the closure that is needed. Especially to her character as Elena, and choosing between her first love Stefan and her last love, Damon.
Although there have also been reports that she may return in form of her another character, Katherine Pierce. This was led by the fact that Ian Somerhalder is Nina's ex-boyfriend and is currently playing the role of her on-screen boyfriend, Damon. A reunion between the two as Elena and Damon may cause a rift between Somerhalder and his wife, Nikki Reed. However, since Nina hasn't confirmed yet that she will indeed be returning to the show, there is no way to know how things will turn out for Damon or Stefan.
Dobrev To Be Joining The Cast Of "The Originals" Instead?
Aside from returning to "The Vampire Diaries," Dobrev is alleged to be joining "The Originals" instead. There have been reports that the writers are finding a way to make her character as Elena enter into the storyline of the show. Still, the fans are yet to be waiting for this news to be confirmed.
Nina Dobrev still has a lot on her plate, as based on her posts on social media. It looks like the actress is definitely enjoying her time being single and being committed to other projects as well.
