For Doom fans, here's something great for you: a free update for Doom has just been released today so you all can have a damn good time.
As reported, the new Doom update adds a new single-player attack mode to the first-person shooter video game. Yes, a whole new attack mode called Arcade Mode. Thanks, Bethesda.
Doom Arcade Mode
This Doom update called Arcade Mode transforms the single-player campaign into a series of challenges wherein players can compete with the other players via Doom leaderboards. Pretty cool, right? But wait till you hear more.
Doom Arcade Mode also have all the guns, weapons, upgrades, runes, and equipment unlocked. This will then add to the awesomeness of the game where players can customize their gear, loadouts, and looks when entering a stage. Doom players are then able to achieve high scores through avoiding damage, consecutive kills, and attaining multipliers.
Doom SnapMap Update
Doom's latest update also adds in Classic Doom textures to the SnapMap if players decide to make new stages in Classic Doom style. The new update even features some old-fashioned Doom stages just to get the ball rolling.
Another Doom SnapMap update will have the players easily review and recommend the SnapMaps they have played. Not only that, the new Snap Feed feature will allow players to subscribe to a creator's output for them to check out.
Doom Multiplayer Modes
The recent update for Doom also features new multiplayer modes. The First mode is called Possession where Marines are pitted against Prowler demons (player-controlled). The fallen soldiers will then return as Prowlers. The Marines' goal is to survive, on the other hand, Prowlers' are there to convert humans into demons.
The second Doom Multiplayer mode is Bloodrush where players are plagued with a virus that drains the meter. This meter can only be refilled through assists and kills so if a player gets killed, the meter will run out faster. Once the meter reaches zero, the player can no longer respawn.
There are more upcoming Doom updates to be released so don't get dismayed. For those willing to pay for a better immersive gaming experience, there will be paid DLC for the multiplayer on Oct. 27, just in time for Hell Followed, the second expansion, to be released.
