‘Narcos’ Season 3 News & Updates: Michael Stahl-David, Matt Whelan Join Cartel Drama; Upcoming Season To Feature Four Cali Godfathers?

"Narcos" season 3 will explore the shift in power from Medellin to Cali cartel after the death of Pablo Escobar. Filming for the third season is in full swing in Colombia and Netflix already confirmed that Pedro Pascal will return as Javier Pena. Reports also confirm that Michael Stahl-David and Matt Whelan were added to the cast as American DEA agents assigned in Colombia. Rumors on plot details remain to be confirmed.

"Narcos" Season 3 Production Developments

Despite its growing popularity, there has been little to no news about the current progress of the third installment of the drug cartel drama "Narcos." Based on insider reports, there will be new faces in season 3 who will join Javier Pena. American DEA Agent Chris Feistl portrayed by Stahl-David will make his way to Colombia together with his partner Daniel Van Ness (Whelan).

There's still no news if Boyd Boldbrook will reprise his role as Steve Murphy in the upcoming season although many fans are hoping that he would.

"Narcos": The Cali Cartel Arc

As previously reported by many spoiler sites, "Narcos" will follow Cali cartel in the upcoming season 3. Cali would be different from the Medellin cartel since people behind it are part of a system; they are not viewed as outlaws or any of that sort. The new cartel which will take over the drug trade in the country is sophisticated and has a lot of connections. Cali has four pillars although only three of these godfathers have been introduced in the series, namely: Gilberto Rodriquez (Damian Alcazar), Miguel Rodriguez (Francisco Dennis), and Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann). The fourth one identified as "Chepe" might be introduced in the new season although there's no news yet on who will play this new character.

"Narcos" season 3 is expected to air in 2017 and the series will pick up right after Pablo Escobar's death. There is no news on the fourth season of "Narcos" although there are speculations that it will follow the Mexican cartel.
