It seems that Gibson, 60, is discussing with Randall Wallace, a popular screenwriter about the probability of making another movie, a sequel to the first "Passion"movie which was released in 2004. Gibson currently refers to this proposed sequel as the "Resurrection." This possibility is made clearer in an interview with Joel Osteen of the Houston megachurch and his wife, Victoria which will be aired on Oct. 28 on Sirius XM channel. It Will Be About The Resurrection Of Jesus
Randall Wallace also gave some hints about the follow-up film. He said that "The Passion of the Christ" will evolve into the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Wallace even claimed that he is an expert in the renaissance of Christ since he studied at Duke University with religion as his major. "I always wanted to tell this story," said Wallace in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "'The Passion is the beginning and there's a lot more story to tell," he added.
He Is Now Working On The Screenplay
Wallace also revealed that he is now writing the screenplay of the Mel Gibson "Passion of the Christ" sequel. He admitted that hiding a film project as big as this movie is really impossible. The Christian community played a big part in arriving at the decision to make this sequel, Wallace added. "The evangelical community considers 'The Passion' the biggest movie ever out of Hollywood, and they kept telling us that they think a sequel will be even bigger," said the screenwriter.
