Cartoon Network's hit show "Steven Universe" put its fans to ease when creator Rebecca Sugar trashed all speculations about the show being cancelled during the New York Comic Con earlier this month. But as Sugar only teased fans with the upcoming episodes, new fanfiction theories are quick to surface. Latest rumors have it that a younger Greg will be featured and the Steven-Peridot fusion will finally happen when the series returns.
It is not yet clear when "Steven Universe" season 4 will resume, although speculations suggest that the show will make its most awaited comeback on Cartoon Network this coming Thanksgiving. As this is the case, fan theories about the revealed episode titles during the NYCC are generating more hype, following the recent rumor that Greg will be seen in its younger version in one of the episodes.
It was recently reported that the upcoming episodes of the hit cartoon series will mostly feature Rose Quartz. Additionally, the "Three Gems and a Baby" episode is assumed to refer to the younger versions of Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet, and that the baby being referred to is no other than Steven. All of these presumptions are now directing fans to the theory that Greg will also be seen in his younger form, when Rose and the former were still together as lovers.
Meanwhile, gem and half-gem fusion theories suggest that the upcoming new episodes of "Steven Universe" will highlight the fusion of Steven and Peridot. Although the fusion is very unlikely, forum discussions speculate that fans are expecting the union. It was also mentioned that only Steven can balance the character of Peridot, thus the two are said to unite before other gems. Following this theory, Ashly Burch is speculated to voice the Steven-Peridot fusion character result.
However, neither Sugar nor Burch herself has confirmed the news of the latter's casting on "Steven Universe" season 4.
Blue Diamond Set To Appear In Season 4 With Yellow Diamond
In the same forum, users have presented points on why the appearance of Yellow Diamond is possible in the comeback of "Steven Universe." The group speculates that Yellow Diamond will visit Steven to try to capture the Crystal Gems. It was said though that she won't be able to get a hold of the gems. Blue Diamond is also said to reappear in season 4, although it is not yet clear why she has to come back to Beach City.
No scripts about the new episodes' plot are yet revealed on the show's official website. Still, revelations are expected to come when "Steven Universe" season 4 returns possibly in November.
