Red Dead Redemption 2 Update: Map Leaked In April Is Real? Crossover With Mafia 3 Confirmed?

The Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer has just been dropped, revealing little about the title. However, some keen-eyed fans were able to scrutinize and connect the map to a previously leaked map that is connected to Mafia 3's New Bordeaux.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Confirms Leaked Map?

Per iDigitalTimes, some details on the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer point to the previously leaked map in April being accurate. The map elements seen on the teaser, such as the farm house, train tracks and mountain range, can be pinpointed on the map.

The map was met with some skepticisms, mainly due to it being connected to New Bordeaux, Mafia 3's recreation of old-school New Orleans. However, now it seems more plausible. It is not too far-fetched that two of Rockstar's titles are connected.

There are sources that have repeatedly confirmed that the Red Dead Redemption 2 map was real before, but it is just now that fans were able to get a concrete evidence.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Cross Over Mafia 3?

If the maps are connected, will it mean that players will soon see a cross-over between Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mafia 3? As of now, it cannot be answered. Rockstar has not gone all out with the trailer and it is not expected that the developer will spill such an important information soon enough.

Even so, this does spark rumors of a cross-over happening soon. It is unknown just how much or how little of Mafia 3's world will bleed into Red Dead Redemption 2's, if this rumor proves to be true.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to drop in fall 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar has not yet announced a PC version for the sequel, but the first title has already landed on the platform via PlayStation Now.
