Gears of Wars 4 Halloween Event Adds Pumpkin Heads, Themed Gear Packs And More

Game Developer The Coalition released a Halloween update for their third-person shooter game, Gears of War 4, earlier today. The update includes the Pumpkin Head skin, Halloween Elite Packs and Pumpkin Ball matches.

Gears Of War 4 Is Joining The Halloween Atmosphere

Many games are using the Halloween season to released Horror-themed events, and Gears of War 4 chimed in by adding its Pumpkin Ball special event, according to a report in GameSpot. This game mode is a remix of the game's dodgeball mode.

In the official Gears of War 4 website, The Coalition described the Pumpkin Ball mode as "a faster paced Dodgeball experience where the dead don't stay dead for long." The mode changes the respawn timer to one second.

A custom pumpkin head replaces the original headgear of the player, with glowing eyes and a menacing grin. It was inspired from an enemy in the game, Juvie. Pumpkin Ball added bonus experience reward and was also made available only for five dark maps, namely Fallout, Forge, Harbor, Impact and Lift. This added a hint of spookiness to the general ambiance of the game.

The Coalition will also release the Elite Gear Pack, which is a purchasable bundle that will include a guaranteed Epic and in Legendary quality. These cards will only come from the Day of the Dead Legendary collection. This promo will last until Nov. 1.

Gears Of Wars 4 Additional Updates

Alongside the themed updates, The Coalition also released a fix to increase the credits and experience that can be gained from its Horde Mode. Credit earn rates and Level XP earn rate have been increased across all difficulties. The said update was made so that players will not feel that they are being punished for trying higher difficulties and not making it to 50.

The developers also said that future updates will be about harsher rage-quitting penalties, louder teammate footsteps, and various footsteps.
