"Grey's Anatomy" star Justin Chambers has been dropping hints that his character Alex Karev will be leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital soon. Meanwhile, Ellen Pompeo revealed in a recent interview that she wanted to see real-life couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan on the show.
Justin Chambers Leaving Show?
Chambers' character Alex Karev has been noticeably dropping clues in several episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 indicating that the good-looking doctor's curtains are closing. According to a report from She Knows, Alex Karev "may very well have confirmed his departure" from the long-running ABC soap as showrunners allot more screen time for the character, which implies in one way or another is intended to make viewers love him more.
Case in point: in the previous episode, Dr. Karev has fought for his patient, even putting his job in danger. It can be noted as well that he was there for Amelia (Ceterina Scorsene) when she had uncertainties, and for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo).
However, the closest possible hint of Karev's departure is tensed conversation with Meredith in her bed. As Karev was beside her, she asked how his court hearing was. He responded: "It was fine." Out of the blue, Karev went on changing the mood, saying: "I want waffles. On Sundays-all of us like a family. For as long as we can." The veracity behind these hints, in the meantime, stays uncertain as neither Chambers nor showrunner Shonda Rhimes has addressed the speculations.
Channing Tatum And Jenna Dewan Casting
In other news, Ellen Pompeo expressed how she wanted for so long that real-life couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan will be cast on "Grey's Anatomy." In an interview with Extra's, the 46-year old thespian said of the couple, "I love the two of them. I think they're adorable."
Around February this year, Pompeo can be remembered tweeting Rhimes, "4 episode 300 can we have @channingtatum as a firefighter who rescues @taylorswift13 @jennadewan dressed as cats? Girls u in?" As for the celebrity couple's casting, there is also no confirmation yet.
