The all-time classic, “Beavis and Butt-head”, which MTV introduced to the world, is returning this weekend for a surprise special Halloween marathon along with a special trivia, which viewers can join thru Twitter and win prizes from MTV.
The beloved MTV sitcom, “Beavis and Butt-head” will again be broadcasted this weekend on television as an upcoming Halloween special. The Halloween special titled “Butt-O-Ween” or “The Great Cornholiothon” will air Saturday, Oct. 29 at 5 pm (ET) on MTV Classic. Take note that the 24-hour marathon will only air one episode the entire time and it will air the “Bungholio: Lord of the Harvest” episode.
During the 24-hour “Beavis and Butt-head” marathon, MTV Classic will be inviting viewers and fans to join a trivia contest that will be simultaneously held along with the broadcast. The trivia contest, which will run until Sunday, Oct. 30 at 5 pm (ET), invites fans all over the world who are tuned in to answer trivia questions that will randomly pop up anytime during the marathon. Just type in the answer on Twitter along with the official hashtag #buttoween and tag the channel’s official Twitter account (@mtvclassic) for a chance to win a lot of cool prizes from MTV.
After the 24-hour long “Butt-O-Ween” marathon, MTV Classic will run “Ghostbusters”, “Ghostbusters II”, and “The Lost Boys” on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 along with back-to-back reruns of vintage Halloween-themed music videos from 6 am to 1 pm (ET). These will all be followed by “Weekend at Bernie’s”.
The “Beavis and Butt-head” episode titled “Bungholio: Lord of the Harvest” is part of the said animated sitcom series’s “The Mike Judge Collection”, which was released on DVD in November 2005. Despite being the center of criticism and controversy back when the sitcom still ran, “Beavis and Butt-head” drew in millions of viewers and positive reviews as it was still hailed as one of the top 60 Greatest TV Cartoons of All Time.
