Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare World War 2 Feel Planned By Devs

Infinity Ward has released a statement today regarding the gaming atmosphere of the new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The upcoming Call of Duty title is heading off into space, but the developer said that they will do all their efforts to maintain the World War 2 feel.

According to Game Rant, Infinity Ward wanted Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to have similar bravery that the Second World War brought to the franchise despite of the increasing sci-fi feel that is present in the recent game titles. The developer's decision in bringing the franchise far into the future was widely criticized by gaming enthusiasts and suggesting to have more classic wars.

Based on the report from Gamespot, Thomas Szakolczay, Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare's lead concept artist, said on an interview that they have been trying to stop Infinity Warfare's atmosphere too far from its roots despite taking players into a more high-tech gaming environment. The concept artist is said to be taking some reference from the past Call of Duty's roots in gaming such as making use of World War 2 as a setting. Capturing a similar feeling of heroic force fighting against an unblemished enemy is something that Infinity Ward is trying to recreate for their futuristic Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare game.

Szakolczay also reveals that several combats taken from the latest Call of Duty directly borrow elements or acting as re-tellings of classic World War 2. However this time, it had a new context. By this way, the developers are keeping the game to have a military feel rather than being a hardcore science fiction title.

As previously reported, Infinite Warfare's story trailer features Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones to be the primary antagonist of the game. This is quite a great cinematic experience as soldiers are heading off to outer space to fight a warfare that will decide the fate of the Earth.
