Nintendo Switch has been the epicenter of gaming rumors and speculations for the past months already and despite releasing the latest trailer of the system, it appears that the search for answers were even amplified as the details regarding the new system were still clouded with mystery. There have been numerous leaks that have surfaced on the internet but nothing comes close to the recent Nintendo Switch leaked that was revealed via Twitter.
Nintendo Switch Details
A reporter named Emily Rogers which is known in Twitter under the username ArcadeGirl64, has recently claimed that the Nintendo Switch will have 4 GB of RAM which is just half of those of PS4 and Xbox One. You may be reluctant to the reporter's claim and may label it a hoax but her username has been a reputable source of inside information within Nintendo.
This is her official Twitter post regarding the leaked Nintendo Switch details:
The Bad News
The number one downside for this is that less RAM means less power which consequently means less performance to support for numerous AAA games. It's surprising to see how an alleged next-gen device only has half of the RAM capability of a 3-year old platform. If this leaked info turns out to be true then it will surely be a dire future for the Nintendo Switch as competition will just be even tighter following the release of PS4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio.
Good News
There's always a bright side in every story. Well, the good news for the Nintendo fans is that the Switch will have twice as much RAM as its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii U, which makes it a next level improvement for Nintendo in their current systems. Another good news is that, the Switch will have the higher RAM capability of any handheld device, undeniably outshining PS Vita which only has 512 MB of RAM capacity.
Although the Nintendo Switch may very well be the best handheld device so far, it still doesn't par enough with its rival, the PlayStation and Xbox consoles. With the upcoming release of the PS4 and Xbox One S upgrades, it surely seem dire for the Nintendo flagship. But all is not lost as RAM doesn't mean everything. The Nintendo Switch has very promising feature which Nintendo can pursue including VR and more portability features for the system.
