PS Vita Still Alive With Upcoming Zero Escape: The Nonary Games; Game Collection Exclusive PS4, Vita

PS Vita players, are your handheld units gathering dust? While it's unfortunate that the once-favorite PS handheld console may have stepped at the back of the lines as smartphones and home consoles PS4 and Xbox One are taking over the gaming console charts, we can't help but hope for more exciting new games to come to the Vita.

Is the PlayStation Vita Dead?

It's true that the US may not have said much about the PS Vita for some time, in fact PlayStation Japan president revealed why the Vita was absent at the latest E3. Atsushi Morita explained that the market in the west isn't very large. On the other hand, the PS handheld is actually alive and kicking in Japan as the September Tokyo Games Show conference revealed two new Vita colors to be launched in December. And yes, new PS Vita games!

PS Vita New Games

Upcoming Vita games include Fortune Street board game which features Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters and SaGa: Scarlet Grace. Another is the recently announced The Nonary Games.

Zero Escape Series For PS Vita

You heard that right, for fans of Escape-the-Room Adventure games, this is good news. The Zero Escape series will be coming for the PS Vita in the first quarter of 2017.

The Zero Escape Series Collection will be dubbed as Zero Escape: The Nonary Games and will contain the remastered version of Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999) and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (VLR). And when we mean remastered, the first Zero Escape game, which was released in 2010, will have HD graphics and Japanese and English voice acting.

Zero Escape: The Nonary Games

In Zero Escape, you will have to assume one of the nine participants and compete against others to achieve a certain goal. Now, the rules for each game will vary from title to title but the end goal will not change and that is - to fight for survival and escape alive. And unfortunately, you cannot say "no".

In both Zero Escape games, the main antagonist is Zero but you will find more details about this mysterious character as you play along. In any way you interpret it, your main focus as one of the participants is to solve the mystery in your surroundings and remove the lethal time piece successfully. So if you're tired of the usual hack and slash games and you are looking for more a thought-provoking gameplay with a complex narrative, Zero Escape: Nonary Games is something you'd want to delve into. And hurray for turning on your Vita!

Zero Escape: The Nonary Games will be exclusive for the PS Vita and PS4.
