Overwatch Update: Official Artwork For Character Sombra Leaked

Overwatch's new character Sombra might be the most controversial hero among the ones present in the roster. Rumors and leaks about her reveal started surfacing the internet a couple of months ago. Until now, Sombra still remained as a mystery to the fans. As a result, some of them are disappointed on how Blizzard is handling the revelation. However, a current image has leaked online giving the fans hope regarding this mysterious Overwatch hero.

According to Game Rant, the image was introduced on Blizzard gear store's server before being removed. However, thanks to a speedy fan, it was re-uploaded online. As seen on the image, it was signed by John Polidora. His Polidora's ArtStation profile describes him as "Blizzard/Overwatch Illustrator, concept artist and character designer. That means this image is legit and official.

Several fans noticed that the background of the artwork shows the head of a Svyatogor and Sombra is possibly standing on its hand. The Svyatogor is a mech made by Volskaya Industries to protect Russia from Omnics and suggesting that Sombra, who is a hacker based on the previous leaks, is somehow able to control a Svyatogor and can use it against her enemies. It was also discovered that the current leaked image coincides with the image leaked ahead of Overwatch's Halloween event.

Sombra might also be included on what Jeff Kaplan has mentioned. The game director previously stated that there are two characters they are currently working on and one of these heroes is "very far along and is being play-tested internally." However, there is no guarantee that it is indeed Sombra.

Meanwhile, the best guess for Sombra's official debut might be at the upcoming BlizzCon 2016 event. It is an annual Blizzard bash where it's going to feature an event called "Overwatch - What's New?". This event is set to introduce the newest heroes, maps and more. Since Overwatch have not added another hero for a very long time, it is quite reasonable for Sombra to be finally revealed.
