We already know that Microsoft is currently focused on developing 'Project Scorpio,' the console in which the company claims to be the most powerful console ever made. And just recently, Project engineer Mike Ybarra confirmed via Twitter that the all-new console will be supporting Xbox 360's backwards compatibility. Even with the recent launch of the Xbox One Scorpio, providing an upgraded version of the Xbox One, Project Scorpio is actually Microsoft's attempt to carve an innovatively new beginning in the current state of the console gaming industry. Microsoft's newest console is expected to be featuring an 8-core AMD APU that conveys a 320 GB/s memory bandwidth, along with 6 TFLOPS of graphical performance.
360 Backwards will be available for the all-new Xbox Scorpio
Answering to a follower's question on Twitter, Mike Ybarra said in his tweet that "360 backwards compatibilities will, of course, be compatible and working on Scorpio. #Xbox." While Microsoft is now offering backwards compatibility with the Xbox Scorpio, Sony has failed to incorporate the same features to its PlayStation 4 users, which is giving zero compatibility to older PlayStation 3 games whatsoever.
Project Scorpio is a response to the growing 4k community
According to Xbox head Phil Spencer, Project Scorpio has been designed and developed as a response to the growing 4K gaming community and the high-end VR personal computer sector. This would also make Xbox One accessories and games be compatible with the Scorpio. The Xbox Scorpio console will be officially launched and be on sale in late 2017, but the price for the 'premium' version of the console will relatively not be cheap. The console will be in direct competition to the PlayStation 4 Pro that features games to be upscaled to 4K quality.
VR's for everyone!
PlayStation 4 consoles also have compatibility features with a recently launched gaming device by Sony, the PlayStation VR. The virtual reality head-mounted display was created by Sony Interactive Entertainment and will bring 3D gaming to PS4 users. Xbox, on the other hand, is also planning to incorporate VR on their upcoming console.
