"NCIS" season 14 continues to be one of the most popular shows on television but some fans are concerned about its rumored cancelation. The fact that the seventh episode has been pushed back twice fueled the rumors further that the show will be canceled. However, there is no need to worry as "NCIS" remains to be one of the top police procedural dramas on CBS and the network expressed its interest in the show's continuity.
CBS Names New "NCIS" Showrunners
"NCIS" has been through a rough patch after one of the showrunners, Gary Glasberg, died on Sept. 28. However, fans should not worry as the network is still looking out for the show. To succeed Glasberg, CBS named Frank Cardea and George Schenck as the new showrunners. Both have been with "NCIS" since the first season as consulting producers and they became executive producers by season 9.
With this news, there is no denying that CBS is looking out for the future of the show which means that it is not in line for cancelation, at least in the near future. The new showrunners are intimately familiar with the show's formula and at the same time, they can offer fresh ideas for the series. With the huge fanbase for "NCIS" and the new showrunners, there is still much hope that the drama will deliver more episodes to its viewers.
"NCIS" Season 14 Episode 7 Delay
The decision to delay airing episode 7 of the current episode is a purely business decision. The network decided to air reruns on Tuesday, Nov. 1 since FOX aired the coverage for Game 6 of the World Series and this Tuesday, Nov. 8, will be election night. Hence, the show is set to return on Nov. 15 with the seventh episode entitled "Home of the Brave."
Based on the official synopsis, Anthony DiNozzo Sr. (Robert Wagner Jr.) will return for this episode and Abby, Bishop, and McGee will try to convince him to sublet his apartment. Meanwhile, Torres' new case will push him to break the rules when it turns out that his witness is wanted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"NCIS" season 14 will be back next week on its original timeslot at 8 p.m. every Tuesday on CBS.
