The Survival DLC for Tom Clancy's The Division was meant to be released months ago. However, with all the issues that the game has faced, Ubisoft has to postpone it. The studio instead navigated all its resources towards fixing the title, which is the only right thing to do. Well, fortunately, it seems the developers are ready to serve the forthcoming expansion to the community.
According to Kotaku, the aforementioned DLC will transform Tom Clancy's The Division into a tricky multiplayer game. It'll involve the concept of survival - hence the name - as players face the deadliest enemies in the very heart of New York City. The upcoming content was showcased via a livestream in the game's official Twitch channel.
In its most organic form, Tom Clancy's The Division Survival DLC is an optional mode that works as a detailed extra mission of sort. The only catch is that it's equipped with unique gameplay systems. Apart from that, it limits players' character to not die within two-hours. And although it may be set in a similar map as the one in the game, the scenes it offers are totally different.
In Tom Clancy's The Division Survival DLC, the play will be limited to a total of only 24 players. They'll battle it all out, as they try to survive the area around Manhattan. The thing, though, is that they're stripped of their respective gears. So, as much as possible, they have to survive the blizzard (going straight to the center) before their characters meet death.
The soon to be released Tom Clancy's The Division content covers the full main map of the official title. However, as mentioned, it's being reworked -- added an effect of snow. Players will start off with a gear that offers low-levels items and pistols.
The goal of the said Tom Clancy's The Division DLC is to move towards the Dark Zone, the center of the map. And since players will start cold, hungry and sick, they have to fight it all off. After all, the antiviral drug, which they'll be needing, is placed in the aforesaid point or location.
