Amid the chaotic marital issues emerging between the world famous couple, Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt, a bit of light in their status seems to set in. The long fought over issue on who is to have custody of the kids is now in a temporary halt due to a recent agreement between the two.
Pitt and Jolie's children -- Maddox, 15; Zahara, 11; Pax, 12; Shiloh, 10; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 -- will still be under Jolie's custody under the latest voluntary agreement. While the steamy divorce battle is ongoing, Pitt will have "therapeutic visits" with the kids.
"We can confirm that childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago," Jolie's representative told People. "In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest."
Although the agreement is a week old already, the "Allied" actor is still in pursuit of gaining joint custody over their six children. The latest arrangement may not be the final settlement between the former couple since it has not been filed under the couple's divorce yet.
A two-year long marriage and a 12-year long relationship seem to be rapidly going down the drain since the actress filed for divorce in September. The final blow that allegedly led to the couple's divorce is an incident involving their eldest, Maddox. News about a verbal dispute between Pitt and Maddox on a plane has surfaced and is now under the investigation of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Between the two, Pitt seems to be having more difficulty in this battle. The actor has been left heartbroken during the first reunion with their kids after the filing for divorce was made. During the reunion, the couple's eldest child, Maddox, released a statement that Pitt is not his father and kept a significant distance from Pitt.
The end of this divorce battle is nowhere in sight thus far. Brangelina fans will have to wait and stay updated on news about the ex-couple's rough venture. As of the latest agreement, Pitt's representative has not made any comments about the situation yet.
