"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is a couple more weeks away, but actress Liza Weil who plays Paris has given shocking teasers that might just excite the fans even more. In a recent interview, Weil hinted at a possible new installment for the show as she described the ending of the reboot as "open-ended." Furthermore, she revealed a major change coming to Rory when it comes to her love life.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Weil dropped some hints on the much anticipated reboot series. While she guarded some of the details, she surprisingly dropped big teasers which then led to speculations of a new season for the classic series. When asked if she would accept to do another installment for the show, she said she "certainly" would and said that the ending of the revival leaves some cliffhangers that may soon need to be resolved.
"If we would do more? Yeah, I think we would," Weil said. "Certainly, if Amy and Dan were at the helm of it, I think that's very appealing. And I think that you may find that the way it ends may feel open-ended. We'll see," she added. This then fueled the speculation of an eighth season that might come soon, which follows previous reports that opportunities for more episodes will be determined upon how the revival will perform.
The actress was also asked to give her thoughts about the unending debate among fans regarding the right man that Rory should end up with. With all the theories and conclusions that already came out about Rory's boyfriends, Weil openly discussed the possibility for a new romance for the character that may not involve her past lovers.
"Amy comes to it from the point of view that none of those previous boyfriends were the right person for Rory. They served a purpose for her during that time in her life, and she hasn't necessarily found 'the person' yet," Weil said in reference to Rory's past boyfriends.
An array of assumptions previously came out that seemed to confirm Jess to be Rory's happy ending. However, with Weil's recent statement, new theories have it that a new character might be introduced to the show to play the "new boyfriend" role; or worst, Rory might again end up single in the miniseries finale.
The actress' interview has also confirmed Scott Patterson's claim that the upcoming "Gilmore Girls" reboot will feature several changes. Actress Lauren Graham also recently hinted the same as she revealed a number of changes will come to her character, Lorelai, in the final episode.
This might also include a possible new romance for her character as she teased in an interview about Lorelai's interest in a new guy in Star Hallows which will be played by Noah James. "If we're talking about romance, Lorelai's head is turned by Guy Eating Salad in Stairwell," Graham told TVLine.
All of these will be confirmed as "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" comes to Netflix on Nov. 25.
