"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 has been reported anew to bring well-loved character Cristina Yang back on the show. Latest confirmation about the character's comeback comes straight from Sandra Oh's mouth.
Sandra Oh's Confirmation
Over two years now after Sandra Oh left "Grey's Anatomy," the actress dished about the speculations going around that she is finally reprising her role as Cristina Yang back on set. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Oh finally broke her silence. Unfortunately, the confirmation Cristina Yang's portrayer gave is not about her comeback, but the fact that she has no plans to return to "Grey's Anatomy" for now.
Yang's return at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital has been foreseen for quite some time now after she left without clear reasons. Showrunners did totally kill off the character though which means Oh's comeback is still possible. It can be recalled that Yang left the hospital back in "Grey's Anatomy" season 10 for Zurich, Switzerland. If Yang returns, many would be delighted to see her make up with her best friend Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and ex-husband Owen (Kevin McKidd).
Justin Chambers' Departure
In a previous report, Justin Chambers was said leaving "Grey's Anatomy" following hints that his character Alex Karev had been dropping. In the preceding episodes, Dr. Karev had been allotted with more screen time which sparked rumors that showrunners were trying to draw closer to the character to project a heart-breaking departure scene in the future. However, ABC has not confirmed the rumor until now.
On the other hand, real-life couple Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum were also speculated appearing on the show following a vocal tweet of Ellen Pompeo to executive producer Shonda Rhimes saying, "4 episode 300 can we have @channingtatum as a firefighter who rescues @taylorswift13 @jennadewan dressed as cats? Girls u in?" Even so, this also has not been confirmed.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 airs Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
