'Winds Of Winter' Release Date: Upcoming 6th And 7th Book Installments To Be Released Simultaneously Before 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7?

George R.R. Martin's upcoming sixth installment to the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," entitled "Winds of Winter" has been one of the most highly anticipated books to date. With the year coming to an end already and no announcements have been made yet, it is safe to say that the book could be released sometime in 2017.

George R.R. Martin Planning To Release "Winds Of Winter" Shortly Before The "Game Of Thrones" Season 7?

The famous author George R.R. martin previously said that "Winds of Winter" is set to be released this year. As originally planned, the book was supposed to be released alongside the airing of "Game of Thrones" season six, a TV series that is adapted from the book. However, he retracted the statement earlier this year, admitting to slow writing progress which is highly understandable. Nonetheless, the fans are still anticipating its release since they have been waiting six years for this to come.

With "Game of Thrones" season seven coming in the middle of 2017, there have been reports that "Winds of Winter" be released prior to the season premiere. Martin had previously said that a huge part of the book's storyline was already done, making it possible for it to be released next year as presumed by the fans. Despite the long delay, the fans of the book series have been patiently waiting for even just the announcement of its release date and that would already be more than enough for them.

Seventh Installment "A Dance With Dragons" To be Released Simultaneously With "Winds Of Winter?"

There have also been reports claiming that the delay of the "Winds of Winter" is caused by the fact that Martin is planning to release the seventh book, "A Dance with Dragons" simultaneous to the sixth book installment. If true, this would definitely all the more justify the long delay of the much awaited book. Since these are all speculations and hearsays, the fans will have to wait for the official announcement by George R.R. Martin himself.
