Just a couple of weeks from now, Final Fantasy XV fans can get their hands on the much-awaited addition to the Final Fantasy series. Players will once again revisit the Kingdom of Lucis where Noctis and his friends live. Before the game's release, however, Square Enix made a happy announcement that it will also release a mobile MMO game inspired by FFXV soon.
Yosuke Leydon, president of Square Enix, made the announcement and also confirmed that it will be teaming up with Machine Zone to develop the mobile version of the game. The announcement signals Square Eniz dedication to establish its presence in the mobile gaming industry as well.
"Machine Zone has a stellar track record in the mobile gaming space and we are putting Final Fantasy XV in trustworthy hands. We are very excited to work with the MZ team to bring together two leaders in the gaming world and look forward to Final Fantasy XV on MZ’s amazing gaming platform. We’ll work together to create MZ’s next great global mobile MMO game," he said.
Machine Zone, of course, is the company behind the hugely successful mobile game Mobile Strike. The game is currently ranked No. 2 on iOS in the United States. Aside from Mobile Strike, the company has consistently been in the top-five for the last three years for its Game of War: Fire Age mobile game. At present, the game is at the Number 4 spot. The mobile game company's track record shows that the FFXV mobile version will nonetheless great as well.
Aside from announcing their plans for a mobile FFXV game, Square Enix did not give any further details what the title of the game might be nor its expected release date. For now, fans will just have to be content with the upcoming release of FFXV on consoles.
