NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Giving Up Klay Thompson For Magic's Serge Ibaka? Celtics’ Four-Player Deal Still An Option

The latest NBA trade rumors put the Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson in the spotlight. The Warriors are said to be sending their shooting guard to Orlando Magic in exchange of the latter's power forward, Serge Ibaka. However, it is also possible to see Thompson going to Boston Celtics for a four-player deal.

Thompson is now the subject of recent NBA trade rumors. Some speculations suggest the shooting guard would be traded away with Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks. With Thompson reportedly underperforming this season, it is speculated that the 26-year-old NBA star will have to go after five years of working for Golden State.

The Warriors may have the best roster of players currently as it has two of the top three NBA stars, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. It also signed several NBA All-Star players where Thompson is included. However, despite a powerhouse of players, GSW seemingly disappoints its fans this season with some losses - noting Lakers and Spurs - that keeps it away from the finals. Rumors are rife that the team has to let go of Thompson despite his being a key player to the Warriors since he has been continuously underperforming.

While Thompson's records are slumping, reports have it that he is pointing at Durant as the reason for his dropping performance. Previous reports also revealed that Durant is planning to destroy the chemistry between Curry and Thompson, which observers say is happening right now. Thompson has debunked all of these rumors though and says Durant has nothing to do with his misses.

A more reverberating issue though is pitching GSW to let go of Thompson while the season is still in its early stage. This suggests that the possible trade will happen anytime soon and not in the next season. However, it is still unconfirmed whether the Warriors' guard will head to Celtics or to Magic.

If the trade happens, fans may have to see Thompson going to Magic for Ibaka. This will then lead to a reunion for the latter and Durant who played together for Oklahoma City Thunder from 2009 to 2016's last season. On the other hand, there are also chances to see Thompson heading to Celtics for Amir Johnson, Avery Bradley, and the team's first-round draft pick in 2018. The four-player deal is said to be a legal deal as stated under NBA trade and salary cap guidelines, which can be checked on the ESPN Trade Machine.
