Since Gen 2 is becoming the hottest topic in Pokemon Go lately, people are wondering if which Pokemon candies they should keep in preparation for this next possible major update. Thankfully, some dedicated fans posted a complete list of generation 1 candies that are useful when generation 2 arrives. In addition, a max CP chart is provided for players to be used as a guide in which existing candies you should farm.
According to the report from Pokemon Go Hub, players are recommended to stack up Eevee Candy as much as they want since Eevolution will receive an expansion in Gen 2 with the addition of Espeon and Umbreon. Other notable Pokemon that players will expect are Kingdra, Porygon2 and Scizor. These are the Pokemon in generation 1 that will receive an evolution on generation 2 and players should save candies while they can; Zubat Onix, Scyther, Horsea, Porygon and Chansey with evolutions, Crobat, Steelix, Scizor, Kingdra, Porygon2 and Blissey respectively.
The list also includes Baby Pokemon for gen 1 which includes Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid and Magby. Currently, it is still unclear if how Niantic will introduce these Baby Pokemon. However, we might see a new feature like Breeding System to address this new types of Pokemon. Lastly, the list features split evolutions. This means that the evolution of a particular Pokemon has an alternative option for players to choose. One popular example of the type is the Eevolution.
Included on the list are Oddish, Poliwag, Eevee and Slowpoke with an alternative evolution of Bellossom, Politoed, Espeon, Umbreon and Slowking respectively. On the other hand, it is worth noting that in the case of Tyrogue, who has also a split evolutions of Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Hitmontop, it seems Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan candies will be merged.
Meanwhile, it is highly recommended to stack up all Candies that are involved in generation 2 including baby Pokemon that would potentially increase the max CP of a particular Pokemon just like the case of Magby. In addition, it is expected that movesets will be obtainable when evolving from a Baby Pokemon.
