‘Rick And Morty' Season 3 Update: Why It Won't Arrive In December 2016

If there is a greatest delusion that "Rick and Morty" season 3 fans are made to believe for now, that could be the rumor that the sci-fi animated comedy series is already set to premiere on Dec. 2. Here are some reasons why "Rick and Morty" season 3 won't arrive in December 2016.

No Official Promo Yet

First and foremost, general details about "Rick and Morty" season 3 have been scarce until now. Less than a month from the rumored Dec. 2 premiere date, it is by all means obvious that there is no "Rick and Morty" season 3 happening before the year comes to an end. Exactly 16 days before Dec. 2, it can be expected that there is no production team who would decide to air a show with a little amount of time for the official promotion, although the show does not really need a massive promotion given its already enormous fan base.

Animation Not Yet Done

There has already been confirmation from the writers that "Rick and Morty" season 3's script is already in the wraps. Last Nov. 1, writer and co-producer Dan Guterman tweeted: "And I'm officially done. #RAM #S3." His follow-up tweet said, "I did may be my best work ever over the last 12 months and I am very happy to not have to do any more sleep. #sleep." This sends the message that the writing team had already the script reviewed for animation. Back in September, co-writers Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener revealed that they were only waiting for their script to be sent back by Bardel Entertainment, their partner animation studio.

Nearly two months after the said announcement, there are already reports confirming that half of the animation has already been done. Co-creator Dan Harmon already announced that season 3 will comprise 14 episodes, which means seven could be ready now. Hence, to do the other seven episodes in less than a month is just utterly impossible.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 producers have already confirmed to bring the characters to Hawaii.
