"Fifty Shades Darker" star Jamie Dornan has been the subject of numerous rumors for the past weeks. One of these was the hearsay of "The Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder replacing him in the next installments of the erotic and BDSM filled "Fifty Shades" film series. After being mum for quite a long time, Dornan has finally released a statement regarding the issue.
The 34-year-old actor made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" where he was asked about the casting rumors. The TV show host himself asked the "Fifty Shades Darker" lead star if he knows anything about the rumor of him being replaced by Somerhalder. In response, Dornan released a statement that slammed all the widely circulated rumors.
"That would be really hard for them to do, considering we shot both of the movies. That's an expensive mistake, I'll put it that way. But good luck to him - he'll be great!" Dakota Johnson's co-star said.
Thanks to Dornan's guesting on Jimmy Kimmel, all the replacement rumors can now be laid to rest. "Fifty Shades" fans can now look forward to seeing the Christian Grey actor's sexy and alluring stunts in the two other installments.
In other news, Dornan and his co-star Johnson have become the subject of yet another rumor. Apart from being tagged as a couple with a long-running affair, the two are allegedly taking it to another level. The "Fifty Shades" tandem is reportedly planning on getting married secretly.
Theories of the possibility have strongly been backed up by Johnson's family background. The actress' parents Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith and grandparents Peter Griffith and Tippi Hedren are known to have been wed secretly too.
The actress who plays the daring role of Anastasia Steele was also heard with a desire to follow her family's tradition on secret marriages. Though she has not mentioned any confirmation on whether she is currently up for it, fans of the "Fifty Shades Darker" pairing are still hoping for a possible reveal.
