Top 5 Things You Need To Know About Fallout 4 PS4 Mods

After being pushed back (and a bit of drama), PS4 mods are finally arriving to Fallout 4. Bethesda recently announced the long-awaited feature, though there'll be limitations of sorts. It's worth noting that users of Sony's console have been clamoring for the mods' release. For now, here are 5 things you need to know about it.

The Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Creation Kit

Contrary to what others said in the past, Fallout 4 players can still create mods in PS4. And yes, this is made possible thanks to the Creation Kit tool. The latter is available to anyone looking to take the modding journey. This feature is made possible across platforms -- Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. However, it should be noted that archives won't be possible, as mods in Sony's system will work as plugins. For anyone who's in PC, you can simply download the aforesaid tool via Bethesda's official site. For PS4 users, the launcher must be updated to its latest version.

Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Release Date

As previously reported here at iTech Post, Fallout 4 mods are coming to PS4 later this week. No exact date as to when, but it should arrive along with update 1.8. The latter is said to bring a couple of graphic enhancements and the rumored 4K support. After all, the studio didn't bother to reveal the official patch notes. As for players wondering if there's already access to the game's 160 mods in the console, it's already confirmed to be possible.

Fallout 4 PS4 Mods And Update 1.8

As of this writing, Fallout 4 update 1.8 is already live in the PC platform. As for the consoles, no release date has been unveiled. Nevertheless, for anyone who's looking to create or use PS4 mods, this is the update they'll be needing. The update is also believed to bring a couple of fixes for both modding and gameplay issues.

Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Size

As mentioned above, the Fallout 4 PS4 mods come with limitations, so to speak. First off, its size will be limited to only 900MB. Isn't it a bummer that the video game company didn't make it 1GB? Anyway, the size will be a bit larger on Microsoft's console. That's because Xbox One users are given at least 2GB limit. Nevertheless, the devs are said to be working hand in hand with Sony so as to increase the mod size. Many believe, however, that it won't be happening given the situation the companies have been into lately.

Fallout 4 PS4 Mods External Assets

Unfortunately, Fallout 4 fans won't be allowed to use any external assets. Bethesda has already iterated that, as much as they want to, Sony just won't allow them to do so. Instead, the feature will arrive with pre-sets (the ones that are included in the game itself). In one way or another, it's safe to say that PS4 mods are a bit limited compared to the ones in PC and Xbox One.
