Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are filled with both old and new generation of Pokémon on its Pokedex. Early in the game, there could be a lot of Pokémon that you can find. However, not each of them are worth your time and effort. Know which early-game Pokémon are the best to catch.

Pokémon Sun And Moon - Catch Rockruff At Ten Carat Hill

Rockruff is a rock-type puppy Pokémon. Its bite causes great damage. Rockruff can only be found at Ten Carat Hill in Melemele Island. From Professor Kukui's house, head over leftward and you can notice rocks at the entrance of the hill's foot. You can crunch those rocks or use Tauro's ride pager to get through it. Rockruff evolves into a Midnight Form Lycanroc at level 25.

Pokémon Sun And Moon - Catch Lycanroc in Vast Poni Canyon

Lycanroc is another rock-type wolf Pokémon. Rockruff evolves into a Midday Form Lycanroc when exposed to solar energy and into a Midnight Form Lycanroc when exposed to lunar energy. The Midday Form Lycanroc uses its unique ability Accelerock to smash foes with speedy moves. The Midnight Form Lycanroc takes damage from an enemy and returns double that damage. Lycanroc can only be found in Vast Poni Canyon.

Grubbin is a bug-type larva Pokémon. It uses its strong jaws as a primary weapon in battles and in digging into earth. Grubbing loves electricity that's why you can find it near power plants and substations. Grubbin can be caught on both game's Route 1, Route 4, Route 5 and Route 6.

Charjabug is a bug/electric-type battery Pokémon. Charjabug can preserve electricity inside its body which can be transferred to other Pokémon that needs it, not to mention it boosts their special moves. Charjabug can be caught on Blush Mountain in both games. However, its evolution Vikavolt cannot be found here.

Pikipek is a normal/flying-type woodpecker Pokémon. It can smash foes 16 times per second using its beak. It can attack also at distant range by rocketing seeds at the enemies. You can find Pikepek in booth games on Routes 4, 5, 6 and 8. Its evolution Trumbeak can be caught on Routes 5, 8 and 11, Poni Grove and Poni Plains.

Cutiefly is a bug/fairy-type bee fly Pokémon. It can sense moods of people, plants and other Pokémon. You can catch Cutiefly on Routes 2 and 3.

Pokémon Sun And Moon - Where To Catch Crabrawler

Crabrawler is a fighting-type boxing Pokémon. It uses its claws to cover its face and belly while closing in to an enemy for punch. You can catch Crabrawler on Routes 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16 and 17, Poni Plains, Secluded Shore and Poni Wilds. However, you can only find them in stacks of berries and as you loot the berries, it will attack you.
