A-list Hollywood actor Eddie Redmayne is currently enjoying the success of his most recent blockbuster flick "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them." However, not too many know that he and mega pop star Taylor Swift was rumored to have dated back in 2012.
In a recent interview, Eddie Redmayne addressed the old issue. Furthermore, he also dished out about Taylor Swift's "Les Miserables" audition. So, what exactly happened?
Vanity Fair reported that Eddie Redmayne and Taylor Swift did not date. In the TV show "Watch What Happened Live," the "Theory of Everything" actor said, "I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift, although I met Taylor Swift."
The rumor that the two stars dated was sparked after Taylor Swift auditioned for the role Eponine in the Oscar-nominated movie adaptation of "Les Miserables." The "Shake It Off" singer, however, did not get the role that she tried out for. The role Eponine was to theater actress Samantha Bark. She starred together with big Hollywood names such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crow, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfield to name a few.
In the recent interview, Eddie Redmayne also talked about Taylor Swift's audition for the movie adaptation. It turns out, Taylor Swift did a pretty amazing job auditioning for the role. Eddie Redmayne spilled, "She auditioned for Les Misérables, and she was amazing in the audition. So, we got to sing together, which was a big moment for me, but, no, we never went out."
It was not revealed why Taylor Swift did not get the part. She was not the only A-lister who wanted to nab the role. Time Magazine mentioned that Lea Michelle, Evan Rachel Wood, and Scarlett Johansson all auditioned for the coveted role Eponine.
