2018 Toyota C-HR First Drive Review: Style And Performance In One Package

The 2018 Toyota C-HR has recently made its debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and it caught quite the attention. The Japanese automaker seems to have succeeded in putting style and performance in one package that young buyers are looking for in vehicles nowadays.

The Stylish 2018 Toyota C-HR

The 2018 Toyota C-HR features an aggressive look with its highly raked rear glass, blackout B-pillars paired with high beltlines, low slung rooflines and curved lines found on the sides. These are all thanks to the diamond theme that has been incorporated into the whole vehicle as reported by Nashville Chatter. Other external features include slim headlight that provides the front a more vibrant look, an 18-inch wheels that give the ride a higher ground clearance and a double spoiler on its back that gives the compact crossover a futuristic look.

The 2018 Toyota C-HR Performance Package

According to Green Car Reports, the 2018 Toyota C-HR for the U.S market has only one option for its powertrain. It has a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that is capable of putting out 144 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. This power is paired with a seven-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends the power to the front wheels. Unfortunately, there is no all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain option for the 2018 Toyota C-HR. There are no details yet regarding its fuel economy rating but the same report stated that it will be announced as the launch date of the new model draws closer.

Interior Features, Price And Market Launch

A standard Toyota Safety Sense P electronic driver aids will come as a standard in the 2018 Toyota C-HR. The bundle consists of automatic emergency braking, lane departure and lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. A seven inch infotainment touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control and an Aha smartphone app will also be available. At this point, the price has not yet been confirmed but the new model is expected to be on the market in spring next year.
