Some Pokemon Sun and Moon players are complaining that their saved game files have been corrupted. It turns however, that the glitch may have been caused by a cheat error.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Glitch Error Reported
A number of Pokemon Sun and Moon players complained that their game progress has been corrupted after saving it at the Pokemon Centers. This glitch virtually forces players to start playing the damaged saved file all over again. The reported glitch cause some confusion and indignation among the Pokemon Sun and Moon gaming community.
Glitch Error Exposes Cheaters?
It turns out the Pokemon Sun and Moon save glitch is not the fault of game developer Game Freak. It seems that the error only reportedly occurs for unscrupulous Pokemon players using a cheat tool called PKHeX. It's a basically a save-edit program that helps cheaters obtained Pokemon with great stats.
Ironically, PKHeX developer Kurt (@Kaphotics) posted a recent tweet saying that the so-called glitch is actually caused by his cheat program. He explained that the error occurs because PKHeX is messing with the player's location making their game character invisible. The program has been patched up since Nov. 18. So far, Nintendo has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cheat error. Earlier this month, the Japanese game maker issued a ban on all Pokemon Sun and Moon players who went online ahead of the official launch date.
This gives the impression that any Pokemon Sun and Moon player who complains about the save file glitch is presumed to be a cheater. The glitch controversy has sparked a debate among the Pokemon Sun and Moon gaming community. Some who reported the saving error are denying that they cheated or use a cheat tool.
Pokemon Sun and Moon is one of the most highly anticipated Pokemon games of the year. It's currently out for the Nintendo 3DS system but there are rumors that it will also be included in the upcoming Nintendo Switch.
