People have been pretty energetic lately, doing yet another lap of the park, along with swiping furiously on their phone. If you're completely new, it's not some weird Tinder ritual. These people are actually playing Pokémon GO. When Niantic officially released Pokémon Go back in July, millions got hooked right away, most of them riffing on nostalgia from the games they played as kids 20 years ago.
Why you should play Pokémon Sun and Moon
Little does everyone know, that nostalgia also boosted the Nintendo 3DS sales by a surprising amount, both to cash in on the already released Pokémon games, as well as getting ready for the newly released Pokémon Sun and Moon. But if you're perfectly happy with Pokémon Go, here are some reasons why you also need to try out Pokémon Sun and Moon.
You haven't truly caught them all (just yet)
You might have caught a total of 151 monsters in your Pokémon GO game, but that doesn't mean you're anywhere near to catching them all. Facts up, there are actually over 700 Pokémon out there and if you haven't played a Pokémon game since back in the good old days of Pokémon Red and Blue, then you might have missed out on a couple of hundreds more.
Your quest to be able to catch 'em all will continue
Playing Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sun and Moon at the same time will give you a brand new avenue where you are able to catch multiple Pokémon in three different games.
But the familiar ones are still there
The original 151 Pocket monsters that you've come so familiar with from the original games and Pokémon GO will still be in Pokémon Sun and Moon, despite the fact that there will be over 100 new ones to catch as well. They will be coming with some new models as well as a few different moves than what you're used to.
The basic gameplay techniques will still be there
From Pokémon battles, running through long grasses and encountering some wild Pokémon, going back to Pokémon Centers to refresh your pals, relying heavily on Potions when you can, and attempting to catch them all, all these familiar features and gameplay will still be there, along with some other features that are unique for Sun and Moon.
Similarities between Pokémon GO and Sun and Moon
Some features for Pokémon GO, too, will also be there. Your Pokéball flinging skills don't have to be as accurate and Pokémon Centers will be replaced with Poké Stops, but the way Gym Battles function are still the same for regular trainers vs trainer battles in the game. There aren't actually Gym Battles in Pokémon Sun and Moon, but there are a lot of trainers who are looking for a fight.
It has its own features that are missing from Pokémon GO
Although people have come to love Pokémon GO, there are certainly some other features that are missing that would really make it a far better game. But strangely enough, all those missing features are actually incorporated in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
