In Pokemon Sun and Moon, Pikachu is by far the most iconic breed of Pokemon. The rest of its evolutions in the newest game is fairly scarce. Since the evolved forms of Pikachu does not usually appear in many areas, what most players do is catch them and then evolve it into the Alolan Raichu. Here we bring you the tips on how to get the Alolan Raichu and use its Z-moves for a powerful attack.
How To Catch Pikachu - Melemele Island
Catching Pikachu may not be so hard with a number of guides found on the internet. As reported in the previous article, Pikachu is found in the Melemele island, the first island you will be traversing in Pokemon Sun and Moon. There are two locations to spot Pikachu. The first is found between your house and the place where you will meet Kanuna Hala for the festival. In the two patches of grass before the flight of stairs, a Pikachu awaits. Another method is by walking to the spawning areas inside Hau'oli City.
Find The Thunderstone - Akala Island
Now that you know where to find Pikachu, it is important to note that the only way to get an Alolan Raichu is by evolving the electric mouse you just recently caught. There are still no reports about the Alolan Raichu being caught in the wilds so better stick to this guide and follow it carefully to get what you want in the game.
In order to evolve Pikachu, a Thunder Stone is needed. To those who do not know, the Thunder Stone is one of the most evolutionary items needed in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Upon reaching the second island, Akala, you will eventually head to Route 8 on your way to the lush jungle.
Following the said route leads you to a small area that branches off to the right of the map. This area is right across the Pokemon Center. Trail towards the path and you will hit a trailer with a man searching for fossils. Head off to the right of the trailer, then take a step forward. Behind it, you will be able to pick up the Thunder Stone.
Evolve Pikachu Into An Alolan Raichu
Once you acquire the Thunder Stone, feed it to Pikachu and it will automatically trigger an evolution to Alolan Raichu. Compared to the standard Raichu, the Alolan form is a dual-type of Pokemon that can be either electric or psychic.
The Alolan Raichu are known for their psychic powers usually found on their tails. One of the best things about this Pokemon is its new ability, "Surge Surfer," that allows it to move faster and double its electric power.
Get Raichu's Exclusive Z-Move
Once the evolution is done, the next step is to let it learn "Aloraichium Z." This Z-crystal move can only be obtained in Poni Island in the Seafolk Village. In the last house on the right, there's a lady sitting on the couch who wants to see an Alolan Raichu. This move will allow any Alolan Raichu to learn a powerful Thunderbolt ability called "Stoked Spark Surfer."
