Ever since Nintendo announced a reveal event for the Nintendo Switch on January 12, 2017, there has not been any other official news regarding their upcoming console. However, there are several rumors surfacing over the Internet regarding the upcoming games that will also be released for the Switch. One popular game that fans are expecting to be included on the Nintendo Switch is The Legend of Zelda.
Why expect a Zelda game?
In the Switch's reveal trailer recently shown by Nintendo, some gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda was also revealed. Right now, fans are believing that the game might still be in development and what has been shown was probably just a technical demo of the game.
New Zelda game will have a different release date
Recently, several reports have been suggesting that The Legend of Zelda is not going to be released together with the Switch's projected release date, which will likely be in March 2017. According to several online reports, industry reporter Laura Dale mentioned in one of her tweets that The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Switch is set for an upcoming June 2017 release with a Wii U version of the game following shortly after its release on the Switch.
The new Zelda game
The new Zelda game will be given the official name The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and will be the overall 19th installment of the series. Zelda, along with the Super Mario franchise, has been Nintendo exclusive titles and are expected to be among the first games made each time Nintendo releases a brand new console.
Updates are constantly changing
Updates on the new Zelda may change as we await any official word from Nintendo. Nintendo may be silent about the Nintendo Switch console, but they may not be as quiet about their games. If nothing is heard about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the coming days, then we can fully expect that more details will be revealed during the Nintendo Switch's reveal event next year.
