A couple of months ago, BMW released their newest rendition of the 5 Series. The 5 Series promises to be comfortable while still being fairly quick. This version comes in four engine variants and is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Now, BMW decides to spice things up by adding M performance options to the car.
Added Boost On Select Models
The 540i variant have an available option to get an additional 33-horse power and 36 pound-feet to get a total of 365horse power and 368 pound-feet of torque. An M Performance silencer can also be added to the 540i and the two variants of the 530d models. All versions have options to get bigger brakes that feature aluminum four-piston calipers in the front and single piston calipers at the back. Red paint finish is still used and the stopping power is provided by the inner ventilated, perforated lightweight disc brakes. The diesel variant, 530d, and all 530d xDrive models, gets an additional 26horse power and 22 pound-feet of torque, a total of 215horse power and 479 pound-feet of torque.
Carbon fiber is used on the front bumper, diffuser, and the rear spoiler. Both the spoiler and diffuser can be made from polyurethane, your choice. The famous BMW kidney grille is now in black and the side mirror flaps are also in carbon fiber finish. In addition to the exterior, a black side sill that can be ordered with a carbon fiber look is added for that distinguishing M performance look.
The BMW 5 Series M Performance Is Still The Same On The Inside
The BMW 5 Series with M Performance still have the same body made out of aluminum that saves more than 100 pounds from its predecessor. The adaptive LED headlights still have a design that stretches to the kidney grille, that also perforations that open and closes to improve aerodynamics at certain speeds. The optional. The black side sill will run to the familiar crease that runs from the front fenders to the body. The
M performance 5 Series will still have the same rear taillights that contain LED elements that wrap around to the fenders.
Available engine options will still be the same, a 2.0liter four cylinder, 3.0liter six cylinders, 4.4liter V8 and a 3,0liter six-cylinder diesel engine. No tweaks have been made to the steering, however, it would still give the satisfying feedback that the 5 series offers. It still features BMW's integral Active Steering that lets the rear wheels steer to an angle to help the front wheels on tight corners and fast turns. Adaptive dampers are still equipped with the Dynamic Damper Control. Run-flat tires are still standard on all versions with options to either have wheel sizes of 18, 19 or 20 inches.
No reports have been made yet on changes for the interior so it should still have the 10.3 touch screen display that can be controlled with gestures and voice control that was also introduced in the 7 Series. Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless device charging still come standard. Sales for both the BMW 5 Series and the BMW 5 Series M Performance is still set to start on February 2017.
