In today's world of internet culture, posting beautiful pictures and videos are one of the main attractions at social media networking sites. To further facilitate that, Vivo, a Chinese company has launched its new smartphone, the Vivo V5.

According to the report, Vivo, one of the top global smartphone manufacturers has revealed its secrets to perfect selfies with the launch of the Vivo V5 smartphone. The price of the device is PHP 12,990 ($261). It is believed that this smartphone could dominate the sales this December, knowing that many consumers these days will go through such lengths just to get the perfect selfie. Now that has been said, let's compare the Vivo V5 specs and features with the Google Pixel which is known for its high-end camera. Specs and features are based on GSM Arena.

Vivo V5 versus Google Pixel

Network. The Vivo V5 networks are GSM, HSPA, and LTE. The Google Pixel networks are GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EVDO, and LTE. This round goes to the Google Pixel.

Body. Body dimensions of the Vivo V5 is 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6 mm and body weight is 154 g. As for the Google Pixel, body dimensions is 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.5 mm and body weight is 143g. Personally, I like my smartphone close to 140-145 grams. Higher than that, it's a hassle to be walking around with it inside my pocket. This round goes to Google Pixel.

Display. Vivo V5 display type is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, display size is 5.5 inches, and display resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels. Google Pixel display type is AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, display size is 5.0 inches, and display resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels. I like phones with larger screens. I will give this round to the Vivo V5.

Platform. Vivo V5 OS is Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow), while its chipset and CPU is MediaTek MT6750 and 1.8 GHz Octa-Core Processer - GSM-Specs. Google Pixel's OS is Android OS, v7.1 (Nougat), the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821, and CPU is Quad-core (2x2.15 GHz Kryo & 2x1.6 GHz Kryo). I think I'm going to give this round to the Google Pixel.

Memory. The Vivo V5 internal memory is 32 GB and 4 GB RAM. Google Pixel's internal memory is 32/128 GB and 4 GB RAM. The Google Pixel has more options, so I will give this round to the Google Pixel.

Camera. Vivo V5 rear camera is 13 MP, front camera is 20 MP, and video is 1080p@30fps. Google Pixel's rear camera is 12.3 MP, front camera is 8 MP, and video is 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, 720p@240fps. The Vivo V5 dominates this round.

Battery. Vivo V5's battery is 3000 mAh. For its standby, talk time, and music play, it is unknown. Google Pixel's battery is 2770 mAh. Stand-by, time is up to 456 hours, talk time is up to 26 hours, and music play is up to 110 hours. Because there is no estimated time for the Vivo V5, I will make this round a tie.

Features. Vivo V5 features are a fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass. While Google Pixel's features are a fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, and fast charging. Aside from its sensory features, I like a phone with a fast charging feature. Also, the Google Pixel is compatible with the Samsung VR. Google Pixel wins this round.

The verdict.

The tally is Vivo V5 with 2 wins and Google Pixel with 5 wins. In terms of overall specs, Google Pixel wins. However, if one's focus is for pictures and videos alone, then the Vivo V5 is the go-to phone. Personally, I have not yet heard of a smartphone with a 20 MP front camera. If there is, then please do tell me about it in the comment section. As of now, I agree that the Vivo V5 is the best selfie phone in the world.
