'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 News And Update: Sophie Turner Dishes Out On Sansa Stark's Future

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 star Sophie Turner has recently appeared for an interview and shared some hints on what to expect from her character, Sansa Stark. Aside from that, HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming season.

With only two more seasons to go and two more books George R.R. Martin has yet to release, fans are earnestly waiting for the next “Game of Thrones” installment. Nobody has a clue as what is really going to happen as there are no books to base it on. There are several various theories going around since Season 6 ended.

But thanks to the photos from the set that were leaked before, fans had a peek at what to expect. In light of that, Sophie Turner has just teased some spoilers that have added to the hype. Turner portrays the role of Sansa Stark, one of the children of Ned Stark and Catelyn Tully.

Sansa started out as one of those protagonists one would hate for being naïve but with the succeeding seasons, there was a huge development with her character. As a matter of fact, in Season 6, she became one of the players after going through a horrible experience marrying Ramsay Snow and winning back Castle Ward in Winterfell alongside her brother, Jon Snow. The latest season showed a renewed and mature Sansa.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Turner said that Sansa will be more in control in the next season and fans will be seeing her power tripping. The actress further elaborated that Sansa though grown up still harbors insecurity and that diffidence is fueled after realizing the threats surrounding her when she took back Winterfell. She did not imply though on who she will be clashing swords with especially at the end of Season 6 when she heartily wanted Jon Snow to be the Lord of Winterfell.

Though the show has killed off most of the Starks, it has always evidently portrayed that their bond as a family is ironclad so there’s a huge possibility she won’t be fighting against her siblings over power. It’s more plausible that she will be fighting against her mother-in-law, Cersei Lannister, who clearly won’t be happy with Sansa and Jon Snow getting back Winterfell. There’s also the possibility of going against Daenerys Targaryen but with the leaked set photos of Jon Snow, Daenerys, and Tyrion Lannister appearing to be fighting side by side, that angle is out the window.

Turner has also revealed and confirmed that the main characters will be coming together. Fans will finally see the Starks reunion that everyone has been waiting for since the series of unfortunate events took place. “Game of Thrones” Season 7 will adapt unreleased stories from Martin’s novels, “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring”. HBO recently released a new trailer exclusively on television and it has planned to premiere the next season in mid-2017.
