"Doctor Who" will finally hit the small and big screens for its Christmas special in December. Based on the latest teasers for the Christmas special, the series is going to make this episode a special one as it is the only time that Whovians will see their favorite character in 2016. The Time Lord will be in New York to deal with aliens and he has some companions to make the trip more interesting.
"Doctor Who" Christmas Episode
Peter Capaldi's "Doctor Who" is one of the best things to look forward to this December as the Time Lord tries to save New York. Based on the latest synopsis and the posters, the Doctor and Nardone will team up with a masked superhero, The Ghost, (Justin Chatwin), and Lucy Fletcher (Charity Wakefield), an investigative reporter.
Nardone, a cyborg, used to work for River and he was in last year's episode. Meanwhile, The Ghost and Lucy are new characters in the show. The latest posters for the Christmas special show the Ghost breaking into a glass window while the Doctor, Lucy, and Nardone look at him in surprise.

"Doctor Who" Christmas episode will be one adventurous journey to save New York City from brain-swapping aliens. The episode which is entitled "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" is written by Steven Moffat. The Doctor's sidekicks in the episode will be his temporary companions and there is no news that they will make an appearance when the series resumes its regular programming next year.
The year 2016 has been a sad one for "Doctor Who" fans since the release date of season 10 was pushed back to 2017. This means that the only time that they will see the Time Lord on their screen is at Christmas. This is also one of the reasons why the 2016 Christmas special for the series will also have a special release in theaters.
