Alex Parrish will be in trouble both in the present and past timelines in "Quantico" season 2, episode 9. The preview shows Ryan, Dayana and Leon were all part of the AIC and Alex will be set up as a member of the Citizens Liberation Front. Will she be able to prove her innocence?
In "Quantico" season 2 episode 8, we saw Ryan propose to Alex and the next thing, he is fighting opposite her behind the mask of a terrorist as part of the CLF. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Quantico" showrunner Josh Safran revealed the reason behind Ryan's marriage proposal.
"I do think that sadly in this particular moment, what's motivating Ryan's proposal is the fact that he just aided in killing a man and I think he is feeling like he desperately needs something good in his life to hold on to, and I think that is Alex, and that is probably the wrong reason to propose to somebody, and I think we'll see what happens," Safran said.
The reason seems so wrong but fans all know Ryan really loves Alex; maybe there is some important reason why he became part of the terrorist group. In another interview, Priyanka Chopra said Alex will get to know about Ryan's reason for siding the terrorists and what she will learn will be very interesting. With what happened in episode 8, Alex and Ryan's relationship has taken a worse turn but the actress added that she thinks Ryan and Alex will still get a happy ending. Safran also said that viewers will get to know more about the man that Ryan, Dayana and Leon killed which AIC used to blackmail them to become a puppet of the AIC.
Meanwhile, Alex also has more surprises in store when the series returns after the break. She will be set up as a member of the CLF due to manipulation by enemies in "Quantico" season 2, episode 9. She will try to prove her innocence but it seems like the others will find her hard to believe. Fans will also get to know more of the reason why Alex pursued the AIC by herself after becoming a free agent.
"Alex is now feeling the freedom of being a free agent, and she has a lot of fun with not having to answer to anybody. She also has a surprise in store in episode nine, when we return," Safran said. "Quantico" season 2, episode 9 was directed by Gideon Raff ("Homeland"), and Safran added it will be all about seduction.
Fans will also finally get to see Harry in the upcoming episode as he returns from his London vacation with his family. Safran said more of Harry's backstory will be revealed and the series will start to insert timely aspects in the series. It will also reflect some issues about Donald Trump's win in the U.S. Presedential elections.
"Quantico" season 2 will be moving to another timeslot replacing "Conviction." Episode 9 will air on Monday, Jan. 23, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. Watch the trailer below:
