The original Galaxy A lineup was one of a kind in that it was the only non-flagship smartphone series in Samsung's stable to have received two major Android upgrades, and it seems like Samsung is looking to do the same for the 2016 Galaxy A smartphones.
We have also received confirmation that the company will be updating the Galaxy A (2016) series smartphones to Android 7.0 Nougat. As well know how Android 7.0 isn't seemed ready for prime time yet as far as a single Galaxy flagship is worried, you're probably wondering what that means for older, humbler Samsung devices. The waiting game is most likely, but no, fortunately, shocking snubs.
The mid-range Galaxy A Line up is Ready For The Android Nougat Update
It's reportedly confirmed by now that the 2016 editions of the mid-range Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 and A9 Pro will all leave Marshmallow behind to embrace sweet Nougat goodie. Moreover, even the 4.7-inch Snapdragon 410/Exynos 7578 Galaxy A3 (2016). Rolled out back in December 2015 with Lollipop out the box.
Android Nougat Update May Expect To Come Sooner To Other Samsung Smartphones
Unfortunately, we don't have update ETAs to share as of now although it's safe to assume the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, Edge+, and Tab S2, at the very least, will get the Android Nougat bandwagon first. And considering that the looming 2017 Galaxy A lineup, which may run well Marshmallow off the bat, switch to OS build N soon after their commercial releases.
Don't forget to head over to Samsung's version of Android 7.0 Nougat in our What's New With Nougat series. There's no confirmation if Samsung will include the same new features and user interface on the devices or other than the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, but we are sure that hopeful given how Samsung has focused on software consistency since the Galaxy S6 rolled out early last year.
