The latest success of Final Fantasy 16 has led fans to ask whether it will be followed by Final Fantasy 16. Every installment of the RPG series never fail to draw excitement among its fans, therefore it is not quite surprising whether they will be excited again for the next installment. However, sales is always the main consideration for a game's follow-up.
Square Enix released a tweet about the success of the game since Final Fantasy 15 has already sold more than 5 Million copies. This is quite an impressive figure in terms of sales because it is still the first week of its release. This figure might not be enough for the developers yet. They are looking at selling around 10 million copies of Final Fantasy 15 by the end of the year.
It can be remembered that there were leaked key plot details about Final Fantasy 15 six months prior to the game's launch released by a user on 4chan. This user also emphasized that a possibility of having Final Fantasy 16 would not come out if Final Fantasy 15 will not become a successful hit.
Final Fantasy 15 is set to sell 10 million copies and this is a goal for its developing team before they consider this as a success. They don't intend to make much profit, but they are just targeting the said number for the game's sales. They are also targeting on outselling Final Fantasy 7, their best-selling game of the entire series. Due to Final Fantasy 7's success, there were many spinoffs of the game and it will also have an HD remake for PS4 soon.
During Final Fantasy 15's shipment on day one, the digital sales of the game is more than 5 million units. Thus it is considered as the fastest selling game in the series' history, as reported by The Bit Bag.
