General Motors promised to deliver the first batch of the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt this year and it appears that the automaker kept its promise. The first batch of Chevrolet Bolt EVs have rolled off the assembly line and delivered to three customers who now have their hands behind the wheel.
Chevrolet Bolt EV Availability
According to a report from CNET, Chevrolet delivered the first batch of Bolt Electronic Vehicles (EV) to three customers a couple of days ago in San Francisco Bay area. It may not be a nationwide delivery but it fulfilled the automaker's promise to deliver this year nonetheless. The same report mentioned that the rest of the Chevrolet Bolt EVs will be available across the country by mid-2017. At present, the Bolt EVs are only available in Oregon and California as reported.
Ahead Of The Competition
Given the fact that the Chevrolet Bolt EVs are now out in the market, General Motors is now ahead of its rival Tesla. The Tesla Model 3 is not to enter production phase until late 2017 but it will start going on sale shortly after as reported. This means that Tesla's Model 3 will most likely enter the market as a 2018 model. That being said, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will be able to gain more grounds compared to Model 3 from Tesla.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV Capability And Affordability
It was noted that the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has a range of 238 miles in a single charge and also the first of its kind to have this kind of range. It appears that the good news does not end with the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV having such a high range per charge. Reports state that it is also affordable with a price tag of $29,995 with federal tax included. Not only will the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV carry its passengers further, it will also be affordable to customers on a tight budget.
